GRESB Again Awards National “Green Star” for Sustainability Performance
October 30, 2017
Washington, DC ─ For the third consecutive year, National Real Estate Advisors (National) achieved top performer status, achieving five Green Stars (out of five possible), for its environmental, social responsibility and governance policies from the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). National improved its overall performance by 20% over 2016, ranking 2nd amongst U.S. non-listed diversified firms and in the top quintile of all 823 industry participants. GRESB is a leading measure of sustainability performance for real estate portfolios around the world and its Green Star ratings recognize portfolios that have strong sustainability management, policy, measurement, implementation and quantitative results. Companies volunteer to participate in the GRESB assessment, and participating companies are generally more committed to advancing sustainability initiatives than businesses which do not participate.
Jeff Kanne, President and CEO of National, said: “Our year-over-year performance improved by 20% in the ratings, and we were once again one of the top companies in our peer group. These results highlight National’s ongoing commitment to meeting the highest standards in sustainability and stewardship policies, helping us deliver more competitive projects and better investment results for our clients.”
National Real Estate Advisors also recently received the Award of Excellence for Best Sustainability Program from NAIOP’s DC/MD chapter.
